Amgen Liaison GroupAmgen Cymru is pleased to announce that we are now looking for members for our Amgen Liaison Group. The Bryn Pica Liaison Group was formed many years ago and involved inviting people from the surrounding area of Bryn Pica site in Llwydcoed, Aberdare to participate on a quarterly meeting basis to join members of the Board and Senior Staff who give an overview of what was happening in the Company on a very open basis.
Since those days the business has moved on considerably and recycling now plays a very important part in the business with the introduction by Rhondda, Cynon. Taf of both the kerbside collection and food waste system. Over the past few years the Company has introduced the latest technology at the site into the Material Recycling Facility System, Power Generation, Leachate System Control, and the Liaison Committee has gone from strength to strength. Three of the Community Recycling Centres have been upgraded, one of which was awarded best CRC site of the year in the United Kingdom 2010 However the time now seems right to invite residents from Rhondda, Cynon and Taff areas to participate in a group which we would refer to as the Amgen Liaison Group, the reason for this being that the quarterly meetings are held in our Visitors Centre in Bryn Pica which only holds 20 people, thus we are suggesting that it would not be advisable to amalgamate both groups.
If anyone is interested in joining the Group, which we are in the process of setting up, could you please complete the application form attached and either return by e-mail to judy@amgen-cymru.com or by letter to:- Amgen Liaison Group I am sure that those of you who are interested in the environment and recycling will thoroughly enjoy both the visits and participation and we look forward to receiving your application form duly completed.
